## Jonny POV Saturday, 9/dd/20yy. - \[session 1-3 stuff, mostly detailed descriptions of supernatural happenings, including semi-blurry photos of Isha’s sigils and the Unholy Grail and a sketch of Mawmere, Desdemona, and the cultists\] - Visit from the MOO today after hours. The new head seems to be a teen girl named Marsha Liu, about Cherry’s age. They seemed to know each other from school. The last time I had any direct contact with the MOO was when they rejected my application 4 years ago. I don’t remember Marsha from then. Not sure what happened to the previous head (Evangeline Penwright) or why Marsha was chosen as her replacement. Marsha had a private conversation with Duke Egelon via the TV in Aurelian’s office. I could make out something about a contract that she thought wouldn’t allow for passage of devils and demons directly from hell, something about the full force of occultist movement upon the diner, and the word “sacrifice” before she exited the office seemingly content. The MOO’s apparent intent to interfere with the operation of the diner is inconvenient and concerning (though unsurprising). I need to look through my clippings of evidence of MOO activity in the last 4 years to try to understand what they might be up to. - Note 9/dd: Did a ritual to open my inner eye before bed for some quick insights. It seems that Marsha might be some kind of reptilian, perhaps affiliated with Desdemona and/or the reptilians in the government. Some of these reptilians might be working to shut the diner down to replace us with one that serves lizard food and replace at least one of us with a lizard. I must warn Aurelian ASAP. - Note 10/20: Finally had the chance to do some in-depth research. Here is what I have up on Evidence Board 4: \[photo of a red string board\] It seems that Marsha was Evangeline’s intern who was promoted as the new head via a nepotism clause after Evangeline’s disappearance around February (?). The timing suggests that her disappearance is likely linked to the establishment of this diner and other suspected devil-affiliated establishments. Still unsure of why she disappeared. I have documentation of Evangeline fighting minor lords of hell but nothing linking that to her disappearance. - Bonding with Leslie is going well. Leslie pointed out after our shift that since he paid an equal portion of our rent, he should sleep for equal time in the main bedroom. I proposed that we share the main bedroom instead of swapping back and forth, which he was happy with. It’s an efficient and sensible arrangement. I’m glad that we are now close enough friends to allow for it. In a few days, we’ll hit a whole month as roommates. - Chatted with Aurelian as well over a smoke after closing. I asked about fallen angels but didn’t learn anything new. - Saw Eden today (for the first time since court) at what looked like an empty storefront about a block east of FoodDude Grocery while on an ingredient run for the kitchen around 10am. She was dressed professionally in her blazer and heels. ~~She looked~~ She was talking to a redheaded woman who I don’t recognize and they seemed pretty familiar with each other. My guess is that she’s here on business for the city council or her family’s investments, although I couldn’t find any news articles that were informative. I wonder how well she’s moving on. Sunday, 9/dd+1/20yy - Warning about interference from government reptiles delivered to Aurelian. He seems to take it to heart. I hope the diner continues its supernatural operations in full. I have learned, observed, and documented more about devils and their activities in the past week (and past month with Leslie) than possibly the last decade. - Learned about devil spice preferences today from Leslie. \[infodump here on devil tongues and tastebuds \+ a sketched diagram\] - Solomon took a phone call today from someone who sounded a lot like Eden. I tried to listen in, but he was determined to lose me (suspicious\!) and I was unable to follow him into the freezer. I don’t know why Eden would be contacting Solomon. The divorce case is over and shut, and (as far as I know) Solomon is no longer a lawyer. Why is she talking to him now? Why is he working here at the diner? - Here’s what I know from Leslie: on 8/dd/20yy, XXX days before I summoned him, he was suddenly teleported back to hell as his contract with Solomon was severed (which was why the second summoning attempt succeeded while the prior one failed). Solomon claims that he’s here because he wants a change of pace. Leslie doesn’t trust a word that he says. - Note 9/dd+1: I once again opened my inner eye to scry the truth about Solomon’s actions and intentions. I received a strong message that Solomon might be an extraterrestrial who is plotting to worm his way into Eden’s brain with his sultry voice and snatch her body so that he could manipulate the city council. This is extremely alarming. I need to find a way to warn Eden, although i’m afraid that she wouldn’t believe me. When I found out that Solomon was a devil and that Eden would probably be signing away her soul to him, I tried to call her to warn her and she immediately hung up on me. Of course she did. She doesn’t believe in devils and thinks I sound insane. I need to lock in and produce concrete, undeniable evidence of supernatural forces so that I don’t fail her again. - Had a one-on-one meeting with Duke Egelon today. He seemed confused by my execution of the ducal courtesan’s bow from Nostradamus’s Treatise on Deviles and Fiends. I’m not sure if customs have changed since the 16th century or if I performed it incorrectly. I was pretty nervous, but it seemed like he mostly just wanted to ask after my experience. Big relief\! He gave me a crystal (red, about 1.5 inches, see below photo) to strengthen my contract with Leslie. It’s very exciting to have an artifact of devil magic that I can take home to study. - Note 9/dd+1: I showed Leslie the crystal, but he doesn’t seem to know much about it either. - Note 10/10: I ran the crystal through the full range of tests. \[details here, including emf counters and pentagram rituals and analyses of the readings\] Results seem overall consistent with Duke Egelon’s description of what the crystal does. It seems that it reinforces the magic that binds Leslie to my soul, making it harder for outside devil magic to override or bypass the contract. Most of the magic is centered around me and Leslie but are also tied to some third source, possibly Duke Egelon. This has been a very exciting project to study. I’ll need to thank Duke Egelon when I see him next.
