Marsha is a nervous teenage wreck who was thrust into the role of Chief Occultist of Marlowe after the woman she was interning for mysteriously disappeared. This bundle of anxiety is somehow the city’s main line of defense, using twin swords to fight off demon monstrosities. Amidst constant exorcism gigs, she also has to deal with a conniving secret society trying to depose her. Even worse, Marsha is apparently doomed to kill her ex-best friend (and current crush), Cherry, due to a prophecy. Will this poor kid ever catch a break?
## Relationships
### Evangeline Penwright
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_evangeline.jpg" alt="Chibi Evangeline">
After Marsha was awakened to the world, Evangeline, the Chief Occultist of Marlowe at the time, tried to dissuade the girl from continuing to dive deeper past the Veil. Marsha wholeheartedly pushed forward anyway, fueled by dreams of becoming a “magical girl” or “chosen one” character. Penwright, seeing great potential in the teen, took her on as an “intern” and began to teach her much about the supernatural reality we live in. Penwright helped Marsha finish high school quickly and get enrolled in the local university. However, Penwright’s mind slipped into delirium over the course of the year she tutored Marsha, culminating in her disappearance and the questionable choice to make the young protege the figurehead of the Marlowe Occult Organization. With Evangeling missing, and countless mysteries left in her wake, Marsha is unsure whether to see her mentor as the heroine she thought she knew, or as a reckless fool.
### Cherry Hilda Ford
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_cherry.jpg" alt="Chibi Cherry">
These two were best friends throughout their childhoods and middle school. However, as Vanessa Hilda Ford’s demands became too harsh, and Cherry chose to spend more time with popular peers, Marsha and Cherry’s friendship broke apart. Now, they’re trying to make things work, despite looming supernatural threats.
### Amelia Applegate
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_amelia.jpg" alt="Chibi Amelia">
Marsha is intrigued, confused, and annoyed all at once by the presence of this British teenager who has suddenly become a part of Cherry’s life. Is Marsha jealous of Amelia? … Or of Cherry? Maybe both? Only time will tell…

### Genevieve Whitlock
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_genevieve.jpg" alt="Chibi Genevieve">
This woman was one of the main candidates to become the next Chief Occultist. She deeply resents Marsha, and now does whatever she can to make Marsha’s job complicated and isolating. Marsha thinks Genevieve and the old order of MOO would like Marsha dead, so she’s unsure why she’s been allowed to keep working in the role for so long.
### Jonny Asphodel
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_jonny.jpg" alt="Chibi Jonny">
A tentative new friend of Marsha. Although Marsha is confused by his worldview and off-kilter decisions, she appreciates how Jonny has strived to help her deal with the demons who were freed on the day of the GreenHaven heist. She finds solace in being an occult outcast alongside him.
<div class="buffer-xs"></div>
### Sandra Velano-Yuleny
<img class="relationship-image" src="chibi_sandra.jpg" alt="Chibi Sandra">
Marsha and Cherry’s old babysitter who treated them kindly, even taking them to Meeperland one Christmas long ago. Marsha cares for Sandra deeply and is trying to help her adjust to the supernatural world and stay safe from Pris. However, she worries that Sandra will fall into trouble once more now that she has decided to work at the Diner.
### Eric and Constance Liu
Marsha’s parents. They seem neglectful and uncaring, and Marsha does not seem to have a strong emotional tie to them.
## Magic and Abilities
### Swordfighting and Combat
Marsha can expertly duel-wield twin swords. One sword is an angelic construct formed out of Abbott the cherub, and the other is a fiendish construct formed out of Costello the imp. Despite her young age and small stature, Marsha has been able to fight off and bind threats over twice her size, such as Thatch and Ylthor. She has also shown to be incredibly quick, able to keep up with a car while it was trying to quickly drive away.
### Wards and Enchantments
Marsha can create wards and protective items, such as the summoning bracelets she dealt to Cherry and members of the City Council. While these utilize a lot of mana, they are useful in a pinch and can summon her nearly instantly.
### Cherub and Imp Summoning and Entity Management
Abbott and Costello are bound to Marsha, and she utilizes their abilities in combat, healing, and other utility actions. She has also summoned creatures such as Bazul the imp, a cyclops that observes and transmits info. Marsha seems to specialize in summoning small but useful imps and cherubs. She was also the occultist who bound and imprisoned Thatch after he attacked the Halloween fair.
## Trivia
- Her original name given by the DM was going to be Mimsy. However, she was merged with the childhood friend character in Cherry’s backstory, and her name was finalized as Marsha.
- Her favorite forms of entertainment used to be magical girl anime and fantasy books.
- Marsha is majoring in religious studies at Marlowe Polytechnic University, but this is just a cover for her work as the Chief Occultist.
